January/2016 Favourites

A few of the products mentioned here are mainly yearly favourites that I have been loving all year, whether I have been on and off using them, I will always go back to them! These are all included in my current makeup that I have been wearing everyday.

As you can see in the picture, mine has been well loved and I think it is time to get a new one! I use this everyday to put on my foundation. I hardly ever use a brush as I think using a sponge is so much easier, and using this sponge makes your foundation have a glow/dewy look to it as you have to wet the sponge before you use it, so it's kind of adding moisture to your foundation. It doesn't leave any streaks and blends it in seamlessly

This has been my everyday foundation for the past few months, I really love it more so in the winter time and when I need a bit more coverage. It just seems to work really well with my skin, covering what I need it to cover, and sits really nice, not looking fake or cakey

This is what I used everyday in the Summer, I really love the finish of this product and that it feels light on your skin. It really does brighten your complexion as well as giving a medium coverage. I haven't used it in a while because I only have a little bit left and I don't want to run out!

This is a new addition to my everyday makeup, and as soon as I saw it launch I really wanted to get my hands on it, then I saw they launched it in the UK, then there was no question as to me getting it. This is much like the tom ford brow definer, being a pencil which is in the shape of a small angled brush which people can use to fill in the brows, it makes it a lot easier to fill them in and you can make precise lines where you want to, they also have a really good colour range. I think the price is really good for what it does. Mine is in the shade 'Medium Brown'

I have used this all year round on and off depending on my mood, but I always come back to it as I love all of the shades as I think they suit my skin tone the best, all shades are really pigmented and I hardly get any fallout on them so I never scare to do my face makeup before my eyes. I really love glitter and shimmery eye shadows and this palette offers a really good selection, it's basically like this palette was catered to me!

I saw Tanya Burr use this a few months back in one of her videos and I thought it looked like the perfect nude, I really love it when I wear a natural base, say just foundation, concealer and highlighter, not so much with bronzer or when I am tanned as then I think it's a little too light for me and washes me out, but if you're light or pale skin I think this is your perfect nude, it's not too pink which I like as I don't think pink lips suit me very much. I also really like the finish which is matte, but I always moisturise my lips beforehand so it's not drying.

Here are swatches of the lipstick and three of my favourite shades from the Naked palette

Little Festive Beauty Haul

I recently went to Leeds for a weekend away, one of the main reasons I wanted to go was for the shops! I was in need of a shopping spree and I made beauty purchases as well as clothing purchases, I didn't get as much as I wanted because it was so so busy and I didn't want to stay in the same shop for too long, but here's what I did manage to pick up...

I didn't buy everything in this bowl full of Lush, I've just placed them with the other Christmas and Halloween products I already had.

This is one of my favourite seasonal bath bombs from Lush for the scent, it's not strong in the sweet or spicy category, but does have that warm, slightly sweet scent to it and this is part of their Halloween collection. This contains shea butter which melts into your bath water as it fizzes away, and also gives off swirling red/pink shoots of colour through your bath, along with popping candy!

This is a very simple bath bomb which is new this year, has a white coating with a sheet of glitter covering it, and inside holds a pop of blue which turns your bath a milky blue. This one smells like pure vanilla, but not the sweet sickly vanilla

This is my favourite Christmas bath bomb from lush as the scent is right up my ally, it's sweet but nt sickly or strong sweet like snow fairy, it's more soft and warm. This shoots out colours of blue and yellow, also a silver glitter flow through them all, this one is a very fun one to watch and I find it very relaxing and festive

This is a new and a very exciting bath bomb for me which they've brought out, going in hand with the classic Yog Nog soap, they've brought it out in a bath bomb form! I loved the smell of the soap, being a sweet toffee scent, but I never lean towards using bar of soaps, so when I saw this I just had to have it

Another new addition, a wand which you swirl in your bath to create bubbles! This has a warm and cinnamon scent with an actual cinnamon stick for the handle! Very eye catching and can imagine would create a festive gold bath with lots of sparkles and bubbles.

Moving onto the makeup side of this haul, I did only pick up three things, one because I was shopping with my boyfriend and I didn't think he would appreciate me indulging in the makeup for hours, and two because of how busy it was in the makeup shopping area, you could hardly move and I couldn't stay in there for long, but I did get some goodies..

I love cream products and I always stay away from blush as it does scare me a little, but I've always loved the look of this product, and when I saw it I thought why not just get it. It's a cream blush in a subtle pink shade with a gold glitter sheen to it which I think will be perfect for the season

I didn't mean to get two cream blushers as it was so crazy in there I wasn't thinking and just picked up some things I remembered that I wanted. This is a neutral pink cream blush which I thought would be good for me as it's a subtle shade and also in a cream form

This wasn't much of an exciting purchase but it was something I needed as I had ran out and it is my go-to lipstick, I try and change up my lipstick but I always come back to this one as it's the perfect nude for me and goes with everything

Anastasia Beverly Hills Haul/First Impressions

Recently I haven't been buying much makeup and have been having to save for varies of things, but I thought it was about time I made a little purchase and decided this would be the something really exciting for me. Anastasia Beverly Hills have came out with limited edition illuminators, as soon as I saw them I was sold, they do different shades such as a peach, rose gold, gold and silver/white.

Unfortunately mine did crack on it's travels coming from the USA, and I also decided to purchase the cream contour kit along with it as I have wanted this for a while too. They're available to buy in the UK but the illuminator shade I wanted was sold out!

The contour kits have been raved about for a very long time, and since I decided to make a purchase from there I thought now would've been the best time to get my hands on one as I never got round to getting one! The texture is very light and creamy, not thick at all and very pigmented, I also actually found it was easier to blend with a beauty blender rather than a brush, well I found this worked better for me. All shades have recently been redone to make them cooler toned. It's not something I would use everyday but definitely something to bring out for special occasions for me. The shade 'Light' comes with a neutral vanilla shade, a light salmon and a banana shade. The bottom row holds different contour shades. left being the coolest, middle is more warm toned and the right shade is the darkest of them all

These highlighters are fast becoming the talk of the beauty industry, all over youtube and instagram, and I can definitely see why.. Starting with the embroidered pattern in the product is very stunning and I like the sleek black case, also including a large mirror inside. The actual illuminator is everything I want in a highlighter, Even though this is a light gold shade, it will suit all skin tones and it doesn't come up dark on the skin and reflects light beautifully. No shimmers or glitters are in it which is a huge thing I love about it, it just adds this wet look glow on your skin which is my favourite highlight look and is so pigmented, but however much you add it just doesn't ever look cakey, and you don't get a gold streak on the tops of your cheek bones at all. They have brought out different shades for different skin tones, colours and peoples preferences, worth every penny!
